Yenagoa – Chief Ebiki Seimeiyesiegha Faithful Hassan, National Coordinator of the General Christopher Gwabin Musa Support Group for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election, has commended the Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa rtd, for his implicit confidence in Nigerian youth.
Speaking with newsmen in Yenagoa at the weekend, Chief Hassan, former Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Council in Bayelsa State, described the inauguration of the Musawah for Youth and Development Initiative – MUSAWAH 4 Y-D – as a step in the right direction. MUSAWAH 4 Y-D is a socio-political, development-oriented platform established to promote youth empowerment, civic participation, and grassroots mobilisation.
Chief Hassan said the Gen. C.G. Musa Support Group’s objectives are to convert General Musa’s security credibility into political capital that secures President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 and leverage the military legacy, bipartisan respect, and moral authority of Gen. Musa rtd to frame the 2027 campaign around proven security competence and national stability.

“The group comprises veterans, professionals, and technocrats as co-owners of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” not spectators of governance, he said. “We are deploying a disciplined Musa-Tinubu field network beyond formal APC machinery to ensure message control, rapid response, and penetration in wards where party structures are weak. General Musa’s name is the reason millions of Nigerians believe it. We turn military respect into electoral victory.”
Represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Intelligence and Security, Gen. Bala Isandu rtd, Gen. Musa said the initiative is a movement designed to harness the potential of young Nigerians and women for national development.
“It gives me great joy to stand before you today at the inauguration of MUSAWAH for Youth and Development Initiative. Today is not just the birth of another support group. It is the formal activation of a movement: a movement of young Nigerians and women who believe in service, in development and in the future of this nation,” Gen. Isandu quoted the Minister as saying.
Gen. Musa stressed that Nigeria’s greatest asset is its youthful population, not oil. “Over 60 per cent of Nigeria’s population is under 30. If we do not engage them, empower them and give them direction, we have failed. MUSAWAH was founded on equality, inclusion and shared responsibility. Reject politics of bitterness. We will campaign on performance, not propaganda. The road to 2027 starts today and it starts with all of us together.”
National Coordinator of MUSAWAH 4 Y-D, Polycarp Gankon, disclosed at the event that the organisation has built an extensive grassroots structure across Kaduna State. “We have 266 support groups registered with MUSAWAH, including farmers’ cooperatives, student unions, women associations, artisan groups, and faith-based organisations. No group has less than 50 members. We don’t compromise standards.”
He added: “We currently have 2,295 ward mobilisers and will deploy more than 24,000 polling unit mobilisers. By the end of this month, we will have 26,446 active grassroots mobilisers strategically positioned to engage communities and drive political participation at scale.”
Beyond politics, Gankon said MUSAWAH has conducted AI training for youths, supported NIN registration, and sponsored radio enlightenment programmes.
Representing Governor Uba Sani, Kaduna State Commissioner of Justice, James Kanyip SAN, said youth development is critical to tackling insecurity. “More than 90 per cent of bandits and kidnappers are youths because they have not been engaged. When you engage youths through education and skills acquisition, you take them away from poverty and criminality. This initiative must outlive political cycles and become a permanent programme.”
The highlight was the formal inauguration of MUSAWAH 4 Y-D, with participants pledging to support youth empowerment, grassroots mobilisation, and community development across Kaduna State and beyond.
