Port Harcourt, Nigeria – The Africa Blue Economy Roundtable (ABER) has announced the appointment of Lady Fiona Ejimofor as Director of Membership, Welfare and Inclusion of ABER Women’s Forum Executive Bureau.
The appointment was announced by the Convener and Chief Executive Officer of ABER, Dr. Piriye Kiyaramo in Port Harcourt, Rivers State while exchanging views with journalists on Tuesday.
Lady Fiona Ejimofor is an accomplished Nigerian entrepreneur, economist, former banker and business executive. She studied Economics at the University of Ghana, Legon, and commenced her professional career with Zenith Bank Ghana, where she acquired extensive experience in finance, commercial operations and client relations.
She is the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FIONA FOOD-MART COMPANY LIMITED, an agro-food production and export enterprise, and DanMIRA Integrated Services Limited (DISL), a multi-sector brokerage and project facilitation firm focused on connecting verified opportunities, businesses and stakeholders across diverse sectors.

Lady Fiona previously served as Director of Finance of BRACED Tourism Promotion & Development Initiative (BTPDI), the parent non-governmental organisation of the Africa Blue Economy Roundtable, where she brought financial discipline and strategic insight to organisational leadership.
Her professional interests span finance, entrepreneurship, agro-food production and export, maritime and Blue Economy enterprise, brokerage, project facilitation and business development. She is driven by a commitment to integrity, strategic leadership, value creation and institution building, with a vision to build businesses and systems that deliver sustainable impact.
Commenting on the appointment, Dr. Kiyaramo stated:
“Lady Fiona represents the precise bridge the ABER Women’s Forum requires – from policy to practice. As a former banker, economist and Chief Executive of two thriving businesses in food systems and brokerage, she understands the value chains where our women predominate but do not profit sufficiently. From the smoking kilns of Oyorokoto in Rivers State Nigeria to international export markets, she will ensure our women are not merely counted, but bankable, export-ready and fully included.”

“As we amplify the IMO World Maritime Day theme for 2026-2027, ‘From Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence,’ and the African Union’s Correct The Map Campaign, we need a Director of Membership who will power inclusion – from creeks to capital, from processing to power.”
In her new role, Lady Fiona will be responsible for: Membership Drive and Formalisation: Developing Africa’s first verifiable database of women across the Blue Economy value chain, from fish processors and seaweed farmers to marine lawyers, tourism operators and students.
Diaspora and Intergenerational Linkages: Connecting members of the ABER Women’s Forum across the five regions of Africa and the Diaspora to foster mentorship, market access and investment.
“The ABER Women’s Forum is the heart of ABER. It must not be an elite roundtable for suits, but a true home for the fish processor in Port Harcourt, the seaweed farmer in Zanzibar and the marine lawyer in Lagos. We are committed to building systems that create sustainable impact, where no woman is left behind.”
